A poor village boy travelled almost half the world with RM200 about €30 in his pocket. He encountered many problems on the way but his perseverence, courage, faith and determination drove him to reach his destination. He stranded in Athens with no money to pay his passage to Italy. Luckily an Austrian man paid his train fares all the way to Vienna and gave him some money to continue his journey through Germany and Belgium. But he got stranded again at Ostand unable to cross the English Channel to Dover. However, he managed to persuade the guard to allow him to board the departing ferry. But he was caught without a boarding pass and was scolded. An English man consoled him and gave him €1 for his train fare to London. He worked and studied in London for 12 years and then returned to Malaysia by air after completing his studies.
